Exercise Type

Reps Only

How To Do

Place a resistance band around your thighs just above your knees and stand with feet shoulder-width apart in a half-squat position. Step sideways with one foot, then bring the other foot in to return to shoulder-width, keeping tension on the band throughout. Keep your core engaged and avoid letting your knees collapse inward as you move.

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Place a resistance band around your thighs, just above your knees. Ensure the band is snug but not overly tight.
  2. Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart and slightly bend your knees into a half-squat position. Keep your back straight and core engaged.
  3. Step your right foot to the side, maintaining tension in the band. Follow with your left foot, bringing it back to shoulder-width distance.
  4. Continue stepping sideways for the desired number of steps or distance.
  5. Reverse the direction by stepping your left foot to the side, followed by your right foot, maintaining the same form.
  6. Keep your movements controlled and avoid letting the band snap back or your knees collapse inward during the exercise.

What are common mistakes to avoid during the Resistance Band Walk?
A common mistake is letting the knees collapse inward, which reduces muscle engagement and may strain joints. Another issue is standing too tall stay in a slight squat for optimal activation of the glutes.
How many sets and reps should I do for the Resistance Band Walk?
